Hi Tee! Like the container idea too! I could free a drawer! I never planned, just starting tossing them in there, then utensils needed a crock! Hilarious!

Yep Bubbles...I do the same with fruit just because it is so pretty (and I eat it then)....once in the fridge it spoils slower but doesn't get consumed as fast. (Cold bites hurt teeth) I like it room temp on the counter (as do the fruit flies).

Don't you guys make brandy fruit? Then when it gets pickled, you can put a lid on it & leave it out & it won't spoil.

Oh no. I'm not getting suckered into that again. I've made brandied fruit. No one would eat it. I've made Herman bread starter. It took over my frig and I forgot to make the bread. In my advanced age, I find it simpler to buy a bottle of brandy, buy a peach or two, and definitely buy a loaf of sourdough bread when necessary! LIfe is good..... and simple!

I haven't made brandied fruit in so many years I can't remember. But I remember how good it tasted. Probably better left in my memory. Sometimes things are best NOT revisited.
Uh oh, we're OT again. Dave's gonna have to move us to the sandbox. We just can't seem to manage to stay there.

Oh well, since we're already OT --- I'll continue. Bubbles' meal sounds good; not a thing wrong with that. What time shall I arrive? Hilarious!

You sound like my kind of thinker, JaeRae.

Sandi, I don't even do reservations anymore, but, ah ha, I could definitely write "Kitchen Closed" on that board!!

Yah, that fruitfly thing. I was just drying some banana peels for the garden and when I checked the pile, it had become a veritable fruitfly nursery. Glare Everything is outside now. If it gets wet, it will eventually dry. Big Grin

Chris, are we way too OT??? Hilarious!

Banana peels are even good for just digging in (certain places) still wet but cut into pieces. Roses love them! If you hoe around roses (make a little trough) and throw in chopped up peels, the next morning you start hearing rosie little voices saying, "thank you, thank you!".

Chris, I have to say that lily in your avatar takes my breath away every time I see a post of yours! It is so beautiful & so perfect that it almost looks fake. And it has such a sheen to it! Stunning!
What is the name of it & is it a more northern loving one or do you suppose it would do well this far south?

It seems to be perfect in every way Sharon doesn't it? And to me the colors are right up my ally. I even love the little ripples along the petal edges.

We have to be careful on topic changes too though. Another thread got OT and we were broken from the maddening crowd and relegated to the sandox. Dahlia is in there too and we all know about cats n' sand.

Ann, that lily is 'Giggle Button'. Love the name! It's an oriental hybrid, zones 5-9. I got it from B&D Lilies http://www.bdlilies.com/l7010.... quite a few years ago. The picture on their website really doesn't do it justice. I probably have over 100 lilies and if I had more room I'd have more. Big Grin

The name suits it. I bet it does make you giggle when you walk out & see the blooms have opened. The same kind of reaction I have when I see the rain lilys have bloomed; that's why I call them my giggle flowers.

One of my favorite color combinations.

This gives me an idea for a new garden area: the giggle garden. Big Grin
