Thanks for your reply. I honestly don't think I'll get any volunteer seedlings in the yard, as this one seedpod was the first and only one my plant has ever produced, and there were only a few seeds in it. I think that it was in 2013 that I'd grown my original 2 plants from seed, They bloom nicely each summer, with large dark pink flowers, but I don't think they're very fertile, at least not with each other. But the seeds I got last Fall looked good, so I'm hoping to get some seedlings this Spring.

I also last Fall collected some seeds from an old-fashioned hardy pink hibiscus that's been growing for years in my sister's yard. It has rather small flowers. I think it's an older variety. I've planted those seeds also, and I'm waiting to see what happens. If I end up getting some plants, they might produce fertile seeds with the 2 larger pink plants that I have,

Welcome! @mksemposki1
I'm looking forward to your potential parade of photos!
What climate zone are you in? Mine don't have a single bud yet here in zone 6a, and they are actually a bit ahead of schedule this year.

@mksemposki1,
Are those 2 this Spring's photos?
Zone 6b is generally 1 or 2 weeks ahead of me, but I'll be lucky to have blooms in a month. Mine tend to hold off until July, most years.

I have been looking and I found you can buy summer spice hardy hibiscus directly from jberry nursery on their website. For me I may go for a lilac crush and a summer carnival this year in hardys.

I'm glad to hear jberry has an online retail outlet. When I contacted them a few years ago, they were selling Hardy Hibiscus wholesale to Lowes, and there was no way to order direct. The fellow on the phone was exceptionally helpful. He spent a great deal of time tracking which Hibiscus varieties had been sent to which Lowe's within 3 hours driving distance from me (the closest one is 1 1/2 hours away). Thanks to his help I added 3 Hibiscus to my collection, from 3 different Lowes. I'll be looking into that, for sure!
Thank You! for the info, Eric.

Interesting hibiscus on sale on ebay. Never seen one with a center like that. It has a frilly center with petals. Claims to be European originated. It is called Mothers Heart. It is pricey. Plant maniac has a bunch of hardys posted. I may go for a Turn of the Century, Summer carnival, and Heartthrob.
