I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of bee this is? I thought it was a carpenter bee, but then I noticed the eyes look different from our common carpenters. Any thoughts?

That looks just like our Texas carpenter bees.

Even Maryland has 10 species of just bumble bee. (University of MD)
