Google lens suggests Merremia tuberosa?

Loretta, you could be correct - we both know morning glories are sun worshippers.

Most of my larger I. nil flowers don't open so nicely. There is always a tare, a stuck section or some type of imperfection.

The wind often tears up the petals. Then there's the humidity effect. I frequently pose flowers outdoors; if torn I will try to arrange the flower back to close to normal shape for photos. Indoors I don't have to do that hardly at all. Sometimes if the flower is close to the trellis support then the trellis interferes with the opening process. Ipomoea purpurea laughs at Ipomoea nil; never see a poorly opened purp flower.

I almost posted that about the purps but then deleted the comment! They also bloom longer and hold their flowers up better and away from the foliage. Too bad they reseed so heavily for me.

It was indeed Distimake (or Merremia, both are the same) Tuberosus Wood Rose. I posted some pictures of it on the page, actually. =)

My package finally arrived! I purchased this case to store all my seeds in, along with some other miscellaneous items for seed care, like a nail file to nick the seeds.

I just finished labeling and storing them all in it!

Yeah, it worked, the Ipomoea Setifera cutting grew roots! It took a long time so I started to lose hope, but I just checked it today and there were roots!

Anyone got any tips on what to do now? I was just gonna put it in a pot when I come back home tonight and consider it done there.

Send a cutting to me hahaha 😂

Do you have some miracle gro potting soil? Get a 2 gallon pot, put in the soil and moisten it. Make a slender hole at least 3 or 4 inches deep with your fingers or a trowel, gently insert the rooted cutting into the hole, taking care not to break off any roots, then gently press laterally on both sides of the hole to close it, same as how you would install a transplant.

Haha, I can definitely send you a cutting, but would it even survive the trip? Shipping can take a while here. Though, I could go and get a fresh cutting and maybe that would last longer. Thanks for the help btw, much appreciated!

Thank you for considering it. It can wait until when it warms up in the spring. Hope your plants take root and thrive.

Some morning glory vines started growing again all on their own in the pot I had some before, but look at the size of these leaves! There's only a few leaves, but they're all massive

That's really cool to see such large leaves. Bet it's making a good root system with all the nutrients that chlorophyll factory of a leaf is making.

I wonder why it's doing that... this is one I didn't plant myself, but that fell from a seed pod I missed. I haven't maintained it at all or watered it, so I'm assuming it's doing it in an attempt to maximize how much nutrients and whatever else it needs that it can get.

So, I had a great day today. I went shopping and I got some pots, soil and fertilizer. I planted the ipomoea setifera cuttings, so hopefully those take well.

Hoping for success for you with Ipomoea setifera!

I'm going to revisit this mutant Japanese morning glory this year. Last grown in 2013 in my garden.

Happy purp day. Note that the plant is happily growing in an 8 ounce yogurt cup.
