This pretty much sums me up... I recently started feeling more depressed because I realized I didn't appreciate and enjoy my life growing up the way I should have. I put so much pressure on myself to achieve something bigger and I beat myself up because I'm not there. It distracts me from enjoying today. And I still do it because I feel like there's no choice but to stress about how to make the future work. It honestly consumes me and I don't know how to break out of it. Life's too short yet I can't break out of my worry for the future. I want to be able to live for today and appreciate today, but I don't know how to.

I do a gratitude prayer / reminder sometimes many times in a day, mostly just little seemingly everyday things or chores. I like to read inspirational books. That reminds me I need to reread "Mindset" The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. And of course my family and my plant hobby always bring me joy.

Maybe I should try that. I've never read books like that before.

Another thing I'm thankful for related to hubby, is the fact I delayed our visa process and he still stayed with me. I feel like most people wouldn't stick around after having a marriage delayed. I delayed it because I wasn't ready for the move and we had no control over the timeline. I was going to be told by the government when I was to move, on short notice. I just wasn't ready for that and realized I'm more attached to home than I thought. California is so far away...
I feel like that's a terrible way to show you love someone. But he stood by me regardless.

Sounds like you found a gem and he found someone special in you! Definitely someone to be thankful for daily, someone constant in your life that you can count on TK!

Today, I am thankful for the sounds of the birds singing this morning as I went outside to check my plants. I am thankful of there constant chirping and they make me smile.

Today, I am thankful for my dogs. To have such patient, playful, loving creatures by my side is a blessing for sure!

A cup of tea in a quiet morning
to start a very busy day

I started my PTSD hospital group today. And I'm thankful for that. It made me feel less alone meeting other people going through the same kind of thing that I am.

I am a tea 🍵 drinker too Cinda! I am thankful of my blue ternatea, the poor thing continues to give me blooms to mix with my tea even when I neglect to water it.

TK that is a brave step in the right direction! I'm happy for you!

It was a bit tough, as it kept bringing back difficult memories. But I have a lot of hope for it. It took over a year to get into the program and I'm really hoping it'll help make a difference. I'm tired of the PTSD affecting my everyday life.

Also a tea drinker. Having one right now actually. A blend to help with sleep.

Today I am thankful to be able to share my desert roses seeds to my NGA friends through partnership with Dave and Victory Seeds! It was a long thought process for me to figure out the easiest way to share my extra desert roses seeds!

Thankful that today will be another summer-like, sunshine filled day that will enable me to work outside in the garden. We have been very fortunate to have had approximately a week of sunshine and warm days so far with, according to the weather forecast, several more to come. Really beautiful fall days ~ leaves turning.

And thank you for your kind words. The credit goes to my garden. I am succulent and desert roses rich so I figured I better share the wealth from my garden.

Credit goes to Dave too, for being generous enough to accept my donations and do all the work. I work a lot of hours and would not have the energy and time to be mailing seeds but I don't mind mailing them to one place.

Thankful for my kitties.

A lady lost her 5 month old kitten at the clinic today, which was very sad. Hearing how upset she was hurt my heart. It caused a bit of a PTSD flashback too...

But I have my own kitties to be thankful for, who always greet me at the door when I come home. They help cheer me up when I feel sad.

I'm thankful for this gal too. Her name's Bubbles and she's our clinic cat. She helps cheer me up while on the job too. She doesn't seem to like most of the staff but she's totally fine with me. She hangs with me quite a bit.

Sunday's and a day of rest

Yesterday was fun day at Busch Gardens. Family Day and relaxation day as well. Thankful for a cooler though windy day. My plants are definitely happy!
