Trichocereus Grandiflorus

This small cacti produced a huge beautiful pink bloom. The bloom is bigger than my 'Cherish Love' adenium bloom.

Even the most prickly cactus can have beautiful flowers.
Pretty in a pink parade banner . Arguably spectacular flowers

I used to have a lot of cacti and succulents when I had a huge well-lit plant room in Wisconsin. Once you know the trick about folding up a newspaper to grab onto the cactus when repotting, the prickly spines never concerned me after that.

Hmmm good idea on newspaper, I don't have newspapers subscription anymore.

The gymnos and moon cacti don't have sharp spikes, which I like. This particular one has a lot of spikes so I will made sure this is potted in a plastic pot that is easy to unpot and repot. Then just use a cache pots for presentation.

If you get any of the grocery food mailers you can use that, fold it and stash it somewhere for reuse. Make it long enough to go around the cactus with a bit left over that you hold like a handle. I've heard of people using tongs and cloth bandanas, but the tongs could damage the spines, and the spines would be getting stuck into the cloth, which again ends up damaging the spines with more work for you. Newspaper is the easiest, and you will no longer limit yourself to plastic pots for them.
