This Banner reminds me of the Transcendent Crab Apple Tree that grew at the Riverview Nursery, planted in 1914 or so and developed in Siberia in 1884. Here are a couple of photos of it from 2009. The buds start out with a hint of pink, and then develop into a burst of fragrant white blossoms.

Thank you! It's possible my photo is of a crab apple tree, I didn't get a name tag in the shot. I also thought maybe a type of Magnolia was possible too. I might see if I can hunt down the original photo... by the order the photos are in, I might be able to tell roughly where in the Garden I was at and maybe get a ID.
