Those would sure be some adenium flowers, these get to 18" diameter! The ones in the photo are close to that size, I remember they were huge. These were taken mid-November.
This particular one is Brassica Oleracea Osaka Red, I found one of the old photos with a nameplate. The ornamental kales are edible, but since they're not grown for taste, they're quite bitter compared to kale grown as food, and a possibility they might have been sprayed with pesticides. And avoid the roots, roots of all kale are poisonous (I sure didn't know that).
