Pink blooms against white bark

No idea what either of them are, but there's a row of them at Chicago Botanic Garden where the pale pink against the white bark before anything leafs out just looks so pretty and peaceful.

The full photo doesn't really look like much, took me forever to find it too! Hilarious! I've no idea what shrubs have the pink flowers against the white bark of the trees, that I'm going to guess are white birches maybe?

Love the banner, with its contrasts. I agree about the trees being birches (white or canoe birch). My first thought, based just on the form of the shrubs, was some kind of forsythia. I've seen yellow (duh!) and white forms, so I googled 'pink forsythia', on the off chance, and found there really is such a thing. There's even an entry for it in the NGA plants database.
Pink Forsythia (Abeliophyllum distichum 'Roseum')
What do you think?

I thought forsythias were only yellow, I've never seen white ones, so really surprised there are pink ones! And yes, the way they flower before any leafing out reminded me of forsythias too. The only thing different I can see is these are more shrub-like in growth, with many stems coming from the ground. The pink forsythias I've seen pics of seem to have one main stem though, so not 100% sure that's it, but happy I now know they come in pink. I'll have to do some digging.

Edit: I tried enlarging and sharpening to get a better look at the flowers. It's still bad from that distance, but the flowers do look more like forsythia flowers to me.
