Maple tree blooms. Either sugar maple or Norway maple.

I cheated with Google, so at least I know! Hilarious! Btw, I never knew their flowers looked like that at all, so any banner that makes me look up info is great. Beautiful too!

Oh I didn't know that maples blooms are pretty! I usually admire them for their fall foliage.

Not all maple trees have blooms that look like this. Here, for example, is one of my shots of the blooms of Acer rubrum

Spring just a couple of months away for most of us. When it arrives, I urge you to pay attention to the blooms of the trees we think of as 'merely' shade trees - maple, oak, beech, hickory, ash, elm, alder, birch, willow, sassafras, etc. Usually the blooms appear before the trees leaf out, or just when the leaves are emerging. I think you'll see some fascinating sights.

And don't neglect the blooms on evergreens.

Yet again, I learned something new for the day!! Lovely banner and thanks for the information. I tip my hat to you. (We are well aware of pine tree blooms in my location; they dump loads of pollen each Spring onto everything.)
