That is a lovely color for lantanas, beautiful banner, Elizabeth! Here I see more of the "sunset" coloring, yellows and oranges in various shades, so the pink is a nice change for me. When I want pink in fact, I've had to order seeds and start them indoors.

It's easy to see how lantana and verbena can be confused. They belong to the same plant family, Verbenaceae, but different genera. Unless I saw them 'live', or with a size reference in photos, or better yet, growing in the same bed, I would have a hard time stating categorically which plant I was looking at. I had the advantage of seeing the accompanying plant label for this one.

I knew from the leaves it was verbena, yet my fingers unconsciously typed lantana! Hilarious! You're right, they are very similar unless you know what to look for. I had to put together a new computer and my mind is fried by evening in setting up all the programs now.
