Hilltop view

View from Juniper Hill, Hidden Lake Gardens. Fall colors from sassafras and sugar maple intermingle with the dark green of evergreens in the Harper Collection of Dwarf and Rare Conifers.

Sadly, the wonderful old sassafras that had spread one of its contorted limbs all the way to the ground to frame the visitor's view, is no longer there. I miss it.

This shows the location of Hidden Lake Gardens relative to the towns Tipton (tiny) and Clinton (small) and Tecumseh (medium), Michigan. HLG is about a 35 mile drive from my house in Ann Arbor, if I pass through Saline and Clinton. Tecumseh is about 20 miles west of the major N/S highway, US23, which connects Ann Arbor and Toledo, Ohio.

Thank you, that is very specific. I've been to Ann Arbor once, in the 70's. I don't remember why else my family was up there, but my dad wanted to "see the enemy camp" while we were so close.
