Rudbeckia, another staple of the August garden. Like Phlox, it can reseed itself too happily.

I have several Black-Eyed Susans in my yard and I love them. Long bloom times and just covered in blooms without any work or water! That's my kind of plant. I love the blue mixed in with yours. Beautiful banner, Zoia!

I agree, Nancy. Black eyed susans are great. I have a short cultivar that reseeds a little but not uncontrollably.
