Huge Dahlia

I don't know the variety, but the size of it just amazed me. This was taken at Chicago Botanic Garden.

This dahlia has a "watercolor" look. Do you have the original picture? What are the bright purple flowers in the background?

Thank you. I managed to find the original, but I didn't get any labels, not in other photos near it either. But here's the full image.

Those small, intensely colored mystery blooms and the shiny, deep green foliage are a perfect foil for the the large dahlia, with its subtle blend of hues. Really beautiful. I'm glad you answered the call to photograph it, and rose to the challenge of turning the photo into a banner. I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

Could the purple flowers be a variety of Angelonia?
