Born to be purple

Two shots of buds of purple coneflower, one shot used twice. Those images are superimposed on a background I created from the center shot by applying the photoshop polar to rectangular coordinates filter and resizing, cropping, and repeating that output.

I have to admit that I particularly love how the square thumbnail to the left of the post (on the Site Banners page) is so perfectly centered around the one middle bud! I had never paid attention to what area of the image was used before.

@Murky's observation made me laugh, because I haven't paid much attention to that, either. Because this banner was constructed specifically to put that 'bud shot' in the center of the strip, there was the unintended consequence of making that bud the 'center of attention' on the https://garden.org/forums/view... page.

So creative, Elizabeth! Gives us all ideas for future banners!
I love the texture and fresh green color in this one.

I want to thank all of you who embraced this departure from more conventional banners. I had fun with it, and I'm glad so many others shared in the fun. I hope those of you who, like me, enjoy 'playing' with your photos, in Photoshop or other software and apps, are encouraged to make your own forays into the area of composited banner submissions.
