Calm water lends serenity

This Japanese garden is built around a small artificial lake, with numerous features that extend into the lake. I love the reflections they create when the water is calm.

The source photo (below) doesn't provide much more detail of the part that shows in the banner, but it does provide some context. It was an exceptionally calm day at the small lake in the Japanese Garden at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

This is a superb Japanese garden! The reflections you captured are exquisite. I make a point of visiting Japanese gardens near me, especially when the cherry blossoms are blooming! Here's one you may enjoy: https://buffaloah.com/a/nottin... if you happen to be near Buffalo, NY.

Thank you, Maggie for the link to the Japanese Garden in Buffalo, N.Y.
It gives me more empathy and appreciation that needs to be given these places of peace and refuge.

And we can use a lot of peace and tranquility these days. Thanks again, Elizabeth for this window into peacefulness.

Awesome picture Elizabeth I tip my hat to you. I've often been tempted to start a Japanese area in my garden, but I feel it needs way more space than I"m willing to give it Rolling on the floor laughing
We did compromise with this Tori Gate though, that my husband built, and that will do double duty as a support for the two weeping blue spruce

You've done an excellent job in scaling down the outstanding photo to the limits of the banner. As busy as the photo appears, the peaceful calm and order in the design is the most obvious dominator.

Many thanks for all the expressions of appreciation, not just for the banner, but for Japanese Gardens in general, as places to refresh one's spirit and nourish one's love of nature.
