A house near the end of the block here has it all over the front yard. They only have white.

Our library had both the white & lavender this past summer....looked nice all year.....

Alyssum is one of my favorite fragrant flowers. I've been growing since the day I started gardening! I even have some that grow in the pots I bring inside for winter.

Not doing anything outside today other than cleaning up dog dirt before the possible snow. I was out for about 15 minutes earlier to let the goats out and it felt like instant frostbite on my ears.

Yup, too cold today.

I really minded the cold today.....dressed for it, too! I have my dahlias in the garage....hope they didn't freeze.....

I ordered Basil seeds from Baker Creek. I like the Emily Basil that I have been growing for the past two years of which I bought the seeds there.

Anyway, I am almost out of seeds and needed fresh seeds anyway.

I have ordered all my seeds...I'll buy some packs at Walmarts.....I like to grow single marigolds in the garden to keep away the bugs....no bugs, just rabbits....I ordered 3 different kinds of repellent.

I ordered seeds back in November, but I have to go through all my seeds and see what else I have to get.

Up to 350 tomatoes picked from my indoor plants.

I need to order cucumber seeds. Have plenty of tomato seeds. Anyway I used up all my cucumber seeds this past season when that fist planting never came up and I had to replant all the cucumber garden.

If that had not happened (most unusual that they did not come up) than I would have had my seeds for this spring.

Jim, that's amazing.....lovely to have fresh tomatoes that taste like tomatoes this time of year.....Rita, last year was a bad cuke year for me...I had to replant, got very few cukes.....same with my son who usually gets tons of them....

Oh well, it was a good year for the cucumbers after the second planting came up. Never have had a failure like that first planting in all my years of gardening. Never could really know why. Blamed it on a really cold snap directly after I planted my seeds.

I ordered about 5 different varieties...hopefully some of them will do well.....

Bad case of Cabin Fever , so to alleviate some of the symptoms, I just ordered 13 more trees and vines for the food forest. I just hope my wallet outlasts my cabin fever!

This will bring us up to 33 trees, berry bushes, and vines. They will be delivered the beginning of April. As soon as the ground thaws we will start putting up the perimeter fence so we can get rid of the individual plant cages.

Your back is going to have to hold up also in order to plant all the trees and shrubs.

That will keep your spirits up! I like the look of those plums! I had a hazelnut shrub, but the squirrels got all the nuts....I think you'll have to net the filberts or eat a lot of squirrel pot pie!

I did buy some tree nets this past season just with that in mind, not only for the nut trees but the fruit trees as well. Oh, and my air rifle!

That should do it! My Dad used to catch squirrels in a Hav-a-heart trap so they wouldn't eat his fruit...he'd let them go in a city park, only to find them back in the yard again...he knew they were his because he spray painted their tails......I guess you have to bring them far, far away from their territory!
