Wow that was fast. I am tempted to try and indoor morning glory. I see how small the plants are that flower. Outside. I have to wait until August and September, whether I start them in April or June.

The Ipomoea nil cultivars will bloom in winter because of the short days, which is what they see in August and September. Short day length triggers the blooming cycle in the species. I am trying Ipomoea purpurea this winter for the first time. I looked at it today and it is also flower budding.

Hey all! I've been not feeling great lately but some interesting developments with one of my plants! This is ipomoea nil Snow Queen White Demono. It's the 3rd seed I tried as the 1st 2 failed. Even though it had normal cotyledons the true leaves seem to be mutant!

Get well soon Lisa. Group hug

There is a flower bud forming on this Ipomoea purpurea plant. It's my first experience growing this species indoors in winter. The vine is quite short. It promises to open up a flower with a special trait.

Here are a couple of flowers from an unnamed Emma Hill cultivar.

This one looks like the parent.

Look at the dark purple streaks in this one's flower. At first I thought they were shadows but I think it is in the petal tissue.

Unfortunately through some clumsiness I broke off the tip of the vine with the bud. Let's hope it makes more lateral vines soon.

My Ipomoea ternifolia subspecies ternifolia made flowers today. If you look closely at one of them you'll notice a small reverse tube. It's happily growing in a pint size milk container.

Happy New Year 🎆

It's a purp? It definitely will. I always snip mine so they fill out and get bushy instead of going straight up.
