Wow, I've never seen a tulip with genuine blue colors. Glad to know they exist.

Thank you for your nice comments and likes, everyone. And acorns from HemNorth and Fleur. Bleu Aimable is a historic tulip that I tried in my garden a few years ago. I loved the blue interior, but the tulip did not last long in the garden--a couple years and it was gone. I had hoped for something more perennial, but I will try it again some day.

Seems like there is opportunity to do some breeding to produce a true blue tulip---the color genes are there! Smiling

So pretty. The only tulips that come back more than twice seem to be Darwin hybrids and species tulip ( lots of varieties of those, mostly smaller though). I have a good stand of tulipa Lilac Wonder that comes back better every spring
