Here's the source photo for the banner, for what it's worth. It doesn't really show the trail itself, which runs along the southern edge of the Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden. It forms the upper boundary of hillside beds of Chinese and Japanese tree peonies, and overlooks the historical beds of heritage herbaceous peonies, and newer plantings of Itoh peonies and tree peonies of European and North American origin. It ends at some intersections with woodland trails that branch off into the main part of the arboretum.

Oh, that is just gorgeous! I love Rhododendron, I was lucky enough to move onto a property with lots of mature ones. The one in front of the house is two stories tall!

Thanks to all the rhododendron lovers who expressed their enjoyment of this glance back to the marvels of May blooms.
