Crowded nursery

A colony of tiny fungi on a nurse log. Sorry, but I don't know what kind of mushrooms these are. The biggest ones were about the size of my thumbnail.

I love anything mushroom. Your banner is adorable, but probably not edible. A nice fit for the banner.

What a great picture & banner, Elizabeth! The blend of brown, white and a bit of green is superb.

Belated thanks to all who weighed in on this banner. Like @Fleur569, I'm love seeing mushrooms in nature. I also love seeing nature's recycling plans at work in the form of nurse logs. So this sight was a real winner for me.

Here's the source image for the banner. It doesn't show any more of the fungi, but it provides a little context and ambiance.

Elizabeth,

fungi are one of my favorite subjects, too, though we
don't get as many or as varied as in your area,
as it's so warm & dry here.

But I'll keep an eye out as it gets colder & damper,
especially around nurse logs. Smiling

Fungi are cool! And underappreciated in their role in the ecosystem. Your banner is wonderful with the caps all nicely lined up for their picture. Hilarious!
