every home I've lived in since the 1970's. I first became aware of them in Tucson, AZ while in the Air Force. The combination of just those two plants never fails to bring a smile... or at least some pleasant thinking. This twosome was popped out of a small pot just recently and planted in this cut-out in the brick-on-sand entry to the patio. That is why, even in October, these two plants are still relatively small. That notwithstanding, I'm very glad they are there... for some reason this combination at the entrance to my home always feels cheerful and welcoming.
In the much warmer climate in Tucson Lantana became a landscape shrub... it was not unusual to see plants five feet in diameter.

Here, in Oklahoma City, one variety... the one with pink and yellow blooms... has proven to be perennial if sited in the proper micro-climate.

But Lantana is normally thought of as an annual. That said... If planted in the ground a one gallon plant can still easily get to 3x3 feet by summers end.
They are a wonderfully carefree annual... drought tolerant, soil tolerant, responds well to a fertilizer program, no bug problems I've noticed...
and they bloom consistently from early summer until first frost...........................
