Thread OP

When I was re-potting my seedlings outside some seeds flew out and I didn't notice. These are growing in my basil pots. I think it's lettuce leaf basil but I'm not sure? Could be cherry tomatoes too but I don't know. Can anyone confirm?

Tree seeds, what trees are near your garden?

Definitely not tomato. They look similar to the millions of hawthorn tree seedlings I get everywhere, every year, in my garden.

Okay, let me rephrase this, since I have absolutely no clue where you live so that I could compare to the trees in your zone, weather and locale, I have no way to tell what may be in your area for the winds and rains and birds to have found these and transferred to your no trees in the garden area. There are a few other weeds it may be as well, as these weeds can live for decades in the soil, centuries even...

Some type of tree seedling. I can't tell what they are yet, but the emerging leaves look very similar to some type of maple.

Well, maybe some tree seeds were spread by the wind or some animal.

Phoenix! I see why you say no trees, chuckl, Birds bless us with a lot of seeds, as do dust storms. How are your seedlings growing?

I have lived in the northeast and seen maple tree seedlings that appear very similar to this.
