A Mouthful of Sunshine

An insect, presumably one of the more than 6400 species of katydid, munching on the pollen of a daylily. I could see pollen grains all around its mouth.

Such a good banner to show balance in the garden.

This little eye catcher was probably too small to do much damage on its own, and I didn't see any others of its kind, so I just smiled at it.

Ha, ha! The katydid in the 2nd banner looks like he's been caught red-handed stuffing his face! Both are great pictures!

Many thanks for the warm response to this banner. Whenever I photograph flowers, I hope I'll see some interesting arthropod life (insects, spiders, etc.), and seeing colorful critters doing interesting things is a big plus in my book, so I was happy to be able to share this one.
