Fragrant Fir

Korean fir (Abies koreana) needles showing the white lower surface. Firs make wonderful, fragrant Christmas trees.

Great banner!

Knew it was a fir the minute I saw the white back part of the leaves. I really like firs. They're so pretty.

I agree, Sean, sure wish we could have a scratch and sniff image!

I like to get a fir when I go out to the Christmas tree farm. Wonderful fragrance and soft needles.

I think this is the original photo. I just flipped a twig back to show the underside:

The cones are beautiful: standing straight up on the branch and often with a bluish color. Unfortunately they break apart rather quickly, so you don't often see them.
