Fragrant Fir

Korean fir (Abies koreana) needles showing the white lower surface. Firs make wonderful, fragrant Christmas trees.

Great banner!

Knew it was a fir the minute I saw the white back part of the leaves. I really like firs. They're so pretty.

Wow, striking banner, Laurie! Thumbs up

Never seen that fir before, but will look for it just for
the scent if not to grow.

Do you have the original image & a pic of the whole tree?

Your banner really sets the stage and spirit for the upcoming Christmas Holiday. It evokes the sense of smell and imagination of a beautiful tree dressed for the occasion of celebration. Good timing for good thoughts.

Wonderful banner, Laurie, showing both sides of the needles is such clear detail. Perfect for this darkest day of the year (Winter Solstice), to remind us that life is all around us, even in 'bleak mid-winter', if we only look about us.

Thank you to everyone for you comments and likes! And 5 acorns from Fleur!

I agree, Sean, sure wish we could have a scratch and sniff image! Hilarious! I like to get a fir when I go out to the Christmas tree farm. Wonderful fragrance and soft needles. Smiling

I think this is the original photo. I just flipped a twig back to show the underside:

The cones are beautiful: standing straight up on the branch and often with a bluish color. Unfortunately they break apart rather quickly, so you don't often see them.

I hope you all have a great Christmas! Smiling
