Name: Paul Utah (Zone 5b) Grandchildren are my greatest joy.
We built our home in the early 1970's and it features of large east facing picture window....ideal for plants. Over the years this window is where I have grown collections of African Violets, Cactus, Orchids, and Amaryllis. I've also started begonia tubers, Iris and Daylily Seedlings there. Also several cages of Canaries. Currently it is home to my AVs.......A few weeks ago I went to a favorite nursery....Sunriver Gardens in Orem, Utah. They had some gorgeous AVs. and I couldn't resist a few.......and there I went again. Next day I road into another top nursery, Cactus and Tropicals in Salt Lake City and they had a large selection of AVs to choose from. I also found out they got a shipment in weekly and so I went back several times....Here are my current violets. I would like to go have another look at the nurseries but am in a self-imposed quarantine. I'll enjoy what I have........
Paul, what a beautiful sight your large window must be ... all of those Violets are really gorgeous. I love the purples but that solid white one and then the white with the purple edges ...
~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt!
~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot!
Beautiful violets!
Really hard to refuse from new varieties.
Your window looks like a small flowering meadow.
I also took some leaves and young bushes (before quarantine). Some already have buds.
Your african violets are beautiful. I have 2 east windows 1 in a bedroom & 1 in a bathroom. Both are perfect for violets, Surprisingly I have a double west window with blinds to adjust sunlight & many do well there since light is bright all day but blinds block full afternoon west sun. I enjoyed the pictures.
