Today I bought a Golden Pothos and it seems fairly healthy but there are roots coming from the bottom. Since it's fall is it too late to repot it? Or would repotting it force the plant to go into shock. All answers appreciated thanks Smiling

Roots emerging from the pot are not an emergency repot signal. It can be fine that way, see how it does for a few weeks.
Plant it and they will come.

I won't repot either since it is still acclimating to your area. Pothos like moist media but it still needs to drain off excess water. So water as needed. Compare the weight of your container when it is well watered, it will feel heavier. As it goes much lighter then you can water thoroughly again. Also observe the leaves, it will show you visibly if it is feeling thirsty.

If your Pothos is still in its nursery pot, then wait for the top half-inch of soil to dry before watering it thoroughly. That is what is meant by watering "as needed."

If it reaches the point that it is drying out about 2-3 days following a thorough watering, then it is ready for a pot one size larger. I have found that to be the most reliable indicator of when to repot. Pothos are non-seasonal and can be repotted at any time of the year.
