[ Split Cupped Collar Daffodil (Narcissus 'Slip Slop') | Posted on February 15, 2013 ]

When the breeder, Rod Barwick, was asked for background info on 'Slip Slop,' he stated: "It's a cross of n. Slip'ry x n. Splatt."

[ Lily (Lilium 'Kissproof') | Posted on February 6, 2013 ]

Very late season lily!

[ Lily (Lilium 'Miss Libby') | Posted on February 5, 2013 ]

I noted a bloom of this in the garden tonight, with the name on the pot "Miss Lily.'' Miss Libby, sounding close, and having received seeds of Miss Libby crosses, I thought ''give it a try!" YES..found it!! No pics yet.

[ Lily (Lilium callosum) | Posted on January 25, 2013 ]

Very delicate small flower, not much bigger than a 'cherry'...

[ Lily (Lilium 'Lake Michigan') | Posted on January 21, 2013 ]

This is a beautiful bloom, best described as a 'big soft pure wool pillow.' Extreme petal protrusions, and the magenta 'hue' is near holographic. A massive bloom (up around Robina size)

[ Lily (Lilium 'Tan Tiger') | Posted on December 26, 2012 ]

In bygone years, help in identitying this lilium was sought from Australian Lilium legend, Judge John Matthews, who said it was cultivar 'Tan.' Upon further investigation, and some memory coaxing (he's 86), Payne and Stone's 'Tan Tiger' clicked in his memory. Bloom opened today. It hasnt faded! Bulbils of it have been traded and given away, hopefully to the benefit of its survival!!

[ Lily (Lilium leichtlinii) | Posted on December 24, 2012 ]

I'm only going to upload 1 pic-?-Have crossed this with 'L.Grenadier' and 'visa -versa'

[ Lily (Lilium 'Mapira') | Posted on December 14, 2012 ]

Not a nice bloom at all, very patchy

[ Lily (Lilium 'Casa Rosa') | Posted on December 10, 2012 ]

An incredible Longiflorum cross..smells like fresh raspberries, when it first opens. I have been advised that the bloom splits and falls apart on about day 3..I really like it!!. so have crossed a select Asiatic 1c to it, lets see what I get?

[ Lily (Lilium concolor var. partheneion) | Posted on December 2, 2012 ]

This is such a small, dainty and finely formed flower, I missed seeing it yesterday {I must have blinked}..very waxy and hard to photograph.

[ Lily (Lilium 'Pirandello') | Posted on November 30, 2012 ]

A very short lilium

[ Lily (Lilium davidii) | Posted on November 25, 2012 ]

Grown from seed in a pot that once contained L. wardii (you can imagine my shock when it was orange). It still had l.Wardii written on it!

[ Lily (Lilium 'Pink Dream') | Posted on November 8, 2012 ]

Being marketed as 'Pink Giant' in Australia,..but thanks to ATP database, I found its real name!

[ Martagon Lily (Lilium x dalhansonii) | Posted on October 24, 2012 ]

a VERY expensive bulb, purchased 2 years ago and looks as if it will flower soon

[ Daffodil (Narcissus 'Panizzianus') | Posted on September 17, 2012 ]

Panizzianus is a $25 bulb and quite rare.Division 13 ww- miniature. Also known as paper white minor. I now have about 10, and entered this bloom in the show, for the sake of the public being able to view it. In my case, I'm lucky to be able to swap rare lilium bulbs, for rare narcissus miniature bulbs [The old system]

[ Cyclamen Daffodil (Narcissus cyclamineus) | Posted on September 4, 2012 ]

This is my highest achievement in daffodil showing, as it was picked from restricted champion trio Narcissus Cyclamineus/Conspicuus/Snook. I could not believe it!!!!

[ Lily (Lilium 'Show Off [Tonkin]') | Posted on December 3, 2011 ]

A very small diameter asiatic that appears very strong and long lasting. This one I have pictured had only just opened and it was purchased by a lovely old lady. I had to ask 'can I take a picture of it before you go'?

[ Regal Lily (Lilium regale) | Posted on December 3, 2011 ]

For me, lilium Regale is memories of my whole life and family-at Christmas [in Australia]. It was always there, as far back as I can remember, aged about 5 yrs. At our house, at relatives houses or our holiday shack, even in hotels many years ago, there was a 'grand entryway' with a big hall stand full of regale lilies. My Aunty Bev used to line the perimeter of her backyard [which was quite big] with regale lilies in big blue empty ink tubs, which her son brought home from the textile factory where he worked. I was most unpopular at a young age, when I fed her budgies some lily buds and now I can understand why. Recently I inherited my mother-in-laws plants, regale lilies included [and also a white cockatoo-but that's another story]. I grow and sell liliums as an addicted possessive hobby [if there is such a thing] but if I have potted Regale lilies to sell, at the markets, fetes or church sales, I don't get them out of the back of the truck. I wait until some elderly person comes along and says,''do you have the old beautiful smelling Christmas lily?'', well yes, as a matter of fact I do!!!-glad you asked!!

[ Lily (Lilium candidum) | Posted on November 27, 2011 ]

Finally the 'Madonna' blooms-It's lily season, I can sit outside every evening 'weather permitting' and smell the bloom that everyone only dreams of. Summer and lilies are my world [for 2 months, at least]
