Ahoya x Darker Than Sin, the only seedling grown. Dark scape and an Ahoya bloom make this a great seedling. Germinated seedling from 11th Feb 2023.

Try crossing with Secured Borders to obtain a variegated daylily with a dark scape.

In front bed, in spot where Amethyst Prism used to be.
Spring 2024: 1 very small fan emerged.

Fall 2021 seeds. C290-1 (Carolina Scorcher x Dream State) x C137-1 (Emerald Starburst x Pink Stripes). Blooms at 6mth. Reverse bitone with applique eye blending into throat. Evening opener (begins around 6pm). Stable canoeing on petals and sepals which all stand out straight.

Looked sick after the second bloom so I cut off the scape. However, it looks to be dead. Pity. Scape bloomed indoors and I kept that pollen ) as well as from prior first outdoor bloom).

Amazingly, since feigning death (everything brown and shriveled) it has begun to regrow leaves! Impressive.
Planted Fall 2022 in same bed as variegated phlox.

Spring 2023: 1 fan. But it is HUGE. Scape thickness is also good. A keeper if it keeps looking nice. FFO 7th July 2023.
Colors are nicer in cooler weather. Tall scape.
Set pods with Purple Leopard, Stargate Angel Wings, and Freaking Awesome.

Created a very interesting seedling (white leaves with green stripes) with Secured Borders pollen!
Spring 2024: Finally popped out the ground around April 17th. Very late emergence.

Variegated (or interesting) foliage
10 seeds of control versus 10 seeds of drug treated. From same batch of seeds. Chosen randomly assigned into each group to have identical matched groups.

Protocol:
(1) Incubate overnight at room temp in 1ml 15ml falcon tubes either distilled water or 5mg/ml pen-strep (stock concentration).
(2) Next day add 9ml of distilled water to the tubes and pour the seeds into standard dime baggies with perlite (so drug is now 0.5mg/ml). Pour off excess liquid as standard. Keep it at 4oC for re-use.
(3) Incubate at room temp for germination. At day 7 most had germinated. 10 for the control and 8 for the drug treated.
(4) Seeds photographed on blue post-its, and placed into small pots (groups kept together). Soil was pre-wetted with distilled water OR 0.5mg/ml (in distilled water) using a dropper. Excess was caught in small red plastic shot-glasses.
(5) Soil was maintained damp in the way above in 4 for the next week. Seedlings were left together under grow lights and photographed every day (sometimes twice per day, 12h apart - evening photography gives better resolution of colors).
(6) At day 14 albino or potential variegated were extracted and grown separately with the withdrawl of drugs, into fresh soil wetted with distilled water. Drug-treated green ones which looked normal were continued to be grown in same concentration of drug.
(7) At week 3 one of the 4 remaining drug-treated ones had a whitish-borders leaf emerging (one of the pics above). A few days later, however, it appeared more green. This was exposed to UV by moving it to a window before I saw the white, then moved back to the original place to more closely observe. Perhaps UV stimulation is required?
(8) Also note - preceeding (1) the seeds were first "mistakenly" incubated in the drug at 4oC for an hour or 2, before I read the protocol saying room temperature. This small detail may or may not be inconsequential, but is noted just in case.

C290-1 (Carolina Scorcher x Dream State) x C137-1 (Emerald Starburst x Pink Stripes). Pale peachy, with yellow throat. Flower size and scape thickness are good. Is subtly striped! Possible garden names: "Secret Stripes" or "Peach Stripes".
Moved to same square bed as pink stripey seedling.
Note: First week of Spring 2023 and not appeared yet. Not even by May 10th.

Declared DEAD - did not recover from late winter 2022/2023 Arctic blast.

"Cultivar denomination: 'PGHE 10/01' PBR

A Polish variety of daylily with purple-violet flowers and original cream leaves. This perennial creates clumps of leaves up to 40 cm high, from which 60 cm bare stems topped with flowers grow. The flowering of purple flowers with a purple eye begins in July and lasts until August. The flowers are decorated with a beautiful frill. The distinguishing feature of the variety is the unique color of the leaves. In spring, young leaves are creamy, then turn green in early June. It grows best when planted in sunny positions, in moderately moist soil, rich in nutrients. The variety is recommended for planting in perennial beds and cultivation in containers on balconies and terraces.

Frost resistance zone: 5a -29/-27 ° C

Breeder: Przemysław Godlewski, Poland

Cameroons Twister x Michael Bennet. Fall 2021 seeds.
Nice size flower. The first few came out splotchy, rest were fine. Lots of great buds (>20) and branching and new scapes (instant rebloom?). 7" blooms.
Spring 2023: 4 fans. FFO Jul 10th 2023. But looks small and weird. Only 1 small scape with few buds.

Yay, is red not yellow, with a nice dark scape. Dark buds also. A keeper for sure!

Try crossing with Secured Borders to get a dark scape with variegated leaves (note added later: looking at >150 seedlings all leaves were normal dark green). Also made seeds with Joe Burrow as pollen donor with 223 as pod parent (seedlings show very stunted growth) and Cliffjumper as pod parent with 223 as pod parent (seedlings grow well).

In bed next to PPXPS212 and O1708.
Spring 2024: 6 fans emerged. Noticably lime colored leaves emerged.
