April 15, 2021: Transplanted (Planted in Northeast shade corner of the rear garden, by the garden gate, in April.)
May 9, 2022: Plant emerged (Small plant emerged. Added leaf mulch to protect it, and watered it. Will keep an eye on it to see if it needs a better spot with more moisture.)

Tender lavender. January 2023. Is alive in greenhouse. Will cut back in spring and see if it regrows in early spring and when planted out. February 3, 2023: Cuttings stuck (Overwintering this plant, and though it is dying back a bit in the new, small greenhouse, I managed to find several fresh cuttings today, still alive. Clipped them and will see if I can get them growing indoors.)

AKA wavyleaf sea lavender. Robust plant with sunny yellow, 1–3" flower clusters on strong stems. Statice is a long-lasting cut flower for both fresh and dried bouquets. As a dried floral as stays true to color; is easy to dry.

I grew this cultivar awhile ago in the back yard, very pretty bloom. Obtained seed, large packet from Harris Seed to grow it in earnest for the cutting garden for for market bouquet arrangements.

NOTE: Johnny's Seed recommends alternating day and night temperature. Chill seed at 40-45°F (4-7°C) for 1-2 weeks prior to sowing in the greenhouse. Direct seed: 12-16 days at 60-65°F (16-18°C). Transplant: 7-14 days at 68-86°F (20-30°C),
April 3, 2023: Seeds sown (Seed from large packet from Harris Seed. Using it as an early spring sowing, growing for the cutting garden. Sowing in Dixie Cups, putting it outside to experience some freeze thaw cycles to help break the tough seed coat. NOTE: Johnny's Seed recommends alternating day and night temperature. See notes.)

Received 3 seed heads in DnD Seed Swap #9. Tanecetum densum 'Amani' is a low shrub and groundcover with small, yellow ball flowers. USDA: 4-8 Full sun

In the Sunflower family. Seed is in the compound flowers like a sunflower. Synonym: Chrysanthemum densum, Pyrethrum densum Family: Asteraceae, Origin: Middle East, 5000 to 8500 feet elevation (1500-2500 m)

To grow: Plant in a poor, fast draining soil, minimal fertilizer with coarse mulch/crushed gravel. Deer and rabbit resistant. One source suggests light side dressing of compost and Yum Yum Mix in the fall. Does not do well in wet or humid conditions.

Grows 8 to 10 inches tall, 6 to 10 inches spread (20-30 cm)
Water: Drought tolerant, needs good drainage, prefers sandy soil
To plant: 6-10″ apart to promote feathery silvery look. Is cold hardy.
Propagation: Seeds or division in the spring, cuttings in summer

This is a lovely trailing plant, a tender perennial like other Tradescantias. It does well indoors in indirect bright light and outside in part shade. It prefers moist soil.
