From M.G. Los Angelos California - 2021 Its leaves are palmate, and its fragrant flowers are blue-white with a prominent fringe of coronal filaments in bands of blue, white, and brown. The ovoid orange fruit, growing to 6 cm (2 in), is edible, but is variously described as having a bland, undesirable, or insipid taste. It can take 12–18 months for a newly planted vine to reach fruiting size. Passiflora vines are commonly grown from seeds sown in late winter or early spring. Fresh seeds germinate in two to three weeks, while dried seeds take up to four weeks to sprout. Hardiness zones 6 – 9. |
