WOMAN'S PREROGATIVE
BACHMAN-SEIFERT 2014 -DIP, 26", 6", EMre, DOR, 4 BR/25 BC (Gail Braunstein X Stargate Corridor) grey purple with violet chevron eye and sepals and green throat

This little gem came from Dan Bachman as a sight unseen seedling I bought from him. It was impressive right from the start, with its beauty. I the summers I have observed it, it has continued to impress with its performance. Blooms always open well, fertilty and rebloom are constant. The name for this cultivar came about because Woman's Prerogative has an ever changing look, and I kept changing my mind about what to name it!
Wide spaced branching and a generous bud count!

Yellow with large rose red chevron eye above bright green throat.
3-4 way branching with 16-20 buds

This Daylily can send up as many as 3 sets of scapes in a
season so I wanted it to have the word "return" in it's name.
It will memorialize a family story with a "return" theme.

For several years we lived next door to my sister and her husband. Our nephew Chris, now grown, was a toddler and spent many hours at our house. One Christmas he received a small stuffed toy (a dog) tucked into his Christmas stocking and he named it Woof. That dog became his favorite toy and something he had to have when he went to bed. It traveled everywhere with him and was even left in a hotel room once. It cost more to ship it home than the original cost of the toy, but they were thrilled to get him back. After a day spent at our house, Woof disappeared. We looked everywhere, but he was not to be found, and Chris had to separate from his beloved friend.

Our dog "Nipper" LOVED stuffed animals ..... a couple years after Woof's disappearance when planting some annuals, I found something in the ground that I was afraid to touch. Further examination and I discovered that it was Woof, right where Nipper had hidden him. He was given a bath and returned to Chris.

A daylily named "Woof Returns" seems fitting as a Christmas gift, so on Christmas day 2013, this daylily was given to family members who always laugh when the story is retold. (Well, a marker and the promise of delivery in Spring)

WORK WITH ME ANNIE (Bachman 04) 48" 6.25" M DOR Diploid. All Hank Ballard wanted from Annie was a little help in this R&B classic for King Records, recorded right here in Cincinnati. This violet purple with thin white midribs and chartreuse throat is fertile both ways. WORK WITH ME ANNIE'S petals seem to float in front of the sepals giving it a 3-D appearance. A little fatter than my usual fare. Full sib to HOWLIN' WOLF. Four way branching with 18 buds. (STACK THE DECK X BIG ROSS)

height 36 inches (91 cm), bloom 7 inches (18 cm), season M, Dormant, Diploid, 23 buds, 3 branches, Purple bitone with cream midribs above large chartreuse to lime throat. (Miss Jessie × Lady Fingers)

rom archive.org: http://daredevildaylily.com/Ze... Feb 2009
ZELAZNY (2004) 36" M DOR EMO 7" Purple bitone spider with cream midribs over large chartreuse to lime throat, 2 laterals and 23 buds. A vigorous increaser with deep green leaves that makes small fans. The closest to purple I've seen in the seedling patch so far, it is pod and pollen fertile and I've used it a lot to increase scape strength and improve foliage color. Most of its kids so far have been bitones. Named in memory of Roger Zelazny, author of THIS IMMORTAL, LORD OF LIGHT, ROADMARKS (my favorite), the Amber series, and dozens of other novels, as well as numerous award winning short stories. I've been told that the name translates as "iron." Spider ratio averages 4.3:1. (MISS JESSIE X LADY FINGERS).

From Ned Roberts: The pod parent of ZT is TALON x JOHN'S HERITAGE?
TALON and JOHNS HERITAGE
The pod parent of ZT is TALON. Don't know
the pollen parent. ZT has an awesome gene
pool and passes on the curly form and green
throat. The dark color is dominant.
