A newly discovered species from the Tatama massif of the Western Cordillera of the Colombian Andes (source: Aroideana, vol 42, No. 1, 31 July 2019; Hay, A. and M. Cedeno-Fonseca). This is a very juvenile plant (at 2.5 feet with leaves measuring 12 inches) which will eventually grow to gigantic proportions. It is the only Anthurium known to exhibit sapromyohily, having a foul smelling spadix that attracts carrion flies as its pollinator, like the famed Ampphophallus titanum.
