There is also a particularly lovely Stipa called Stipa gigantea which would also be wonderful to include , seeds planted in the same manner though if you can find the seed plant then in April/May. It can reach 6', forms a tight clump 1'to 2' high with awns that rise on lyre-like strings up to 6' tall. The flower is wonderful and changes dramatically after the seeds are set, turning the most splendid gold after the seeds have ripened and dropped: worth looking for. I call this plant a visible invisibility that baffles the eye while satisfying it at the same time. | |

'Little Bunny' to urocza, miniaturowa odmiana -piórkówki wyróżniająca się zwiewnym, fontannowym pokrojem oraz niezwykle obfitym kwitnieniem. Dorasta do około 45 cm wysokości i podobnej średnicy. Posiada długie, wąskie, jasnozielone liście zebrane w niskie, gęste kępy. Od sierpnia do września ponad ulistnieniem wznoszą się cudowne, puszyste kwiatostany, przypominające szczotki do butelek. Początkowo są one zielonkawe, jednak w miarę dojrzewania nabierają kremowo-białej barwy, a wraz z dojrzewaniem stają się beżowo białe. Piórkówka 'Little Bunny' doskonale sprawdzi się na rabatach, a także jako ozdoba pojemników oraz donic.
