Amaranth, Red Dye Hopi - Large plant, showy, though leaves can become beetle food in spring summer. Striking in the garden grown with tall white and pink cosmos. Originally grown as a dye plant by the southwestern Hopi Nation, as it has the most deep red seedlings.
Grown in annual community garden. Showy, large 6-7 foot plant with large seed heads, branching. Can harvest the main head in July and it will send out side shoots.
