Now let’s use the same method to plan out a sunny corner garden filled with annual flowers.

Wish List
  • cosmos
  • marigolds
  • pansies
  • snapdragons
  • sunflowers
  • zinnias

Let's divide these into categories based on temperature preference. Cool weather flowers will be at their peak in spring and fall; heat-lovers will flower in summer. When we create our design we can spread the seasons of bloom around the garden.

Cool Weather
Heat-Lovers
  • pansies
  • snapdragon
  • cosmos
  • marigolds
  • sunflowers
  • zinnias

Let's also look at the mature height of the flowers we've chosen, so we'll be sure to place the tallest plants at the back of the garden.

Height (will vary with variety, so always check plant descriptions):
  • pansies, 6 in.
  • marigolds, 14 in.
  • snapdragons, 18 in.
  • zinnias, 2 ft.
  • cosmos, 4 ft.
  • sunflowers, 5 ft.
