Life of a 70 year old farm boy.

Guess I don't look my age as about a month ago a guy said I hope I look that good when I am 70. I figure it is from good clean living, like in my 20's smokeing a pack of 20 per day and a couple of cigars. Made a 30 cup coffee urn before I went to bed and had it on a timer so it was ready by the time i got up. I worked second shift, mostly 12 hours days. I would make a second urn full of coffee to take to work and never ever threw any out.

Growing up on a farm I got in the habit of not sleeping for a long peroid usually about 4 to 5 hours was the limit and is still. How ever I can nap in some places other people would not think about. I had a Doctors appointment Tuesday, I napped while waiting to be seen. Nurse came to get me and commented she had never seen any one nap in a waiting room.
My wife thinks I am crazy as I will go to bed at 10:30 PM and be back up at 3:30 reading in my Kindle, on the lap top or watching a old movie on the TV.

I have finished with this years heating wood. I heat with wood because the house came with a electric forced air furnace and back in the 80's when we bought the place it was costing 350.00 a month to heat the house that way.
In the Mid 90's I was attempting to get a natural gas furnace since they had just ran NG by the house. Wife kept saying she never heard of this brand or that brand of furnace when I showed her to qoutes so I said guess you will have to keep filling rhe wood furnace with wood while I am at work.

About December I will be in the woods cutting my 2018/19 winter fire wood. Normally leave it in the woods till the follwing Sept and finis bring it to the house in Oct.
Back in the late 1980's to about the mid 1990's I would take my Equipment trailer to my folks place one week end. During the week the people across the hill from my folks who own a saw mill wold put about 7 cords of culls on the trailer for me. I would bring it home and cut those culls up and return the trailer the following week end.

That stopped when they found they could make more money by chipping those culls up and selling Thr chips to a wood burning electric generating plant.
