Well, hello there!

Greetings from the animal kingdom.
This beautiful little frog was sunning itself on a lily pad, and granted my wish that it not go kerplunk until I had taken its portrait. The banner combines two views, the left and right frogs being mirror images.

Here are the two source images from which the banner was constructed. They show, among other things, that this was quite a small frog. Much smaller than a typical lily pad.

Cal,
re "special request....could you please select & post this closeup?"

When I went back to the folders for that photo session, I found that I hadn't saved the selections or crops I used for compositing the banner, so I did a crop of the original of the frog in question, this time not cutting off the poor froggy's toes. It's a fairly severe crop of the original, but I hope it has the quality you were looking for. Thanks for your interest...

@arctangent I just love your banner! I cannot even create one from 1 photo, and now I cannot even upload an image, let alone splice and combine several photos--So that too is a big WOW. For me frogs means Spring, so hopefully Spring is coming soon on this snowy morning--thank you for your frog banner-

I'm glad you enjoyed my frog banner. I have fond memories of hearing frog choruses in the springtime. My recollection is that around here they start around the time the skunk cabbages bloom. Hope you're not clobbered by winter storm Orlena the way areas to the north of you are getting hit, and that the frogs will soon be singing to each other, so you can enjoy that quintessentially spring sound. Smiling

@arctangent Thank you for the acorn! Something was really strange. I was going to reply to you, and all of a sudden I was told to login or become a member, and of course I did not remember the password. So I just shutdown my computer. And then I tried to look up may password, and they do not show up any longer on my personal settings-It starts snowing again--

Awesome closeup, Elizabeth! Cropping the original made all the difference.
Like having a built-in macro. So easy to get details & see things hidden in the original.

So many times I've found an ant or little jumping spider in a pic that I would
have missed otherwise.

Thanks for going the extra mile. Thumbs up

You're more than welcome, Cal. Not much point in shooting high resolution stuff if you don't use it for something. I haven't figured out what the little gray arthropod is on this frog's head. My favorite thing in the shot, actually, besides the frog itself, is the shadows cast by the tiny duckweed on the lily pad.

"...the little gray arthropod is on this frog's head."
I didn't see it till now.....good eyes. Smiling

BTW, how many mp do you shoot at? 24mp?
I'm limited to 12mp, which creates a 5mb, 4000x3000 image.
Good enough for most of my needs, though would like to
have more to play with.

Cal, I shot the frogs with a Sony Nex-7, which produces images of 6000x4000 pixels. The frog crop I uploaded here was 1490x1192, i.e. a 5x4 aspect ratio crop.
