Amid all the strangeness and challenges presented by COVID-19, it's still SPRING!

Share your favorite spring blooms here...

The show here starts with daffodils, although not as many as in other years because many clumps are so crowded that the bulbs have, like tulips, become too small to bloom.

I've been trying to photograph stamens this year, since I don't have massed color...

Sweet! you can see them from that little table in the conservatory by the kitchen, I hope?

Lovey dubby River

My spicebush bloomed this year, giving me a firm ID on it!

Yep, I can see those tulips from the table in the conservatory, but better yet, I can see them clearly from the kitchen island where I prep and cook meals!

Yay on the spicebush blooms. I know I've heard of that one, but I don't think I've actually ever seen one in bloom.

It's a host for the Spicebush Swallowtail -- looks like a Black Swallowtail Butterfly but doesn't have the long "coat tails" and is very flittery and fluttery, not one to every hold still for the camera! Since I have plenty of their secondary host, sassafrass, I'm good, but I've still been wanting a Spicebush. I've bought a couple (at Green Springs) that turned out to be something else. Now I know I have a real one!

We plopped a bench amid the Muscari and have a new fragrant sitting area. And every ten-cent fish we bought in October made it through the winter. They are not much to look at but affordable.

Nice! I really admire the way you garden in your large city lot as if on 1 acre... As you walk around your house, you get the feel of a really huge garden, with another vignette around every corner! The trees you've grown all around the edges give a lot of "depth" to the views, too. Thumbs up

A yellow magnolia that I planted many years ago down along the "Daffodil Trail" is blooming for the first time ever. What a thrill. I recently wrote a blog post about it here if you feel like reading it:

Thanks Sally. I love the blog feature and I've often wondered why more people don't use it. I have a great friend Annie (LysmachiaMoon) who I have gotten to know through her blog. She posts to it almost daily, using it like a journal. It is an enjoyable read and she always has something interesting to say. She is a true DIYer gardener, interested in the design aspects and all manner of hands on gardening. She has a wonderful knack with writing and I love that her posts are interspersed with not only gardening, but her random thoughts on life in general. I wish I was more disciplined to post to my blog on a consistent basis like she does, but I'm not. Sometimes I post almost daily, but more often than not there are huge time gaps between posts. Once in a while I go back and re-read my older posts and it never ceases to remind me of what I've worked on and thought about in the past.

Not my cherry, just one of a billion in landscape around here, cannot deny the flowers are gorgeous, I hope bees etc use them, and dont know if they make fruit for the birds.
Plant it and they will come.
