I got this one (ID is assumed) from Gilbert H. Wild as a freebie in a bag of about 36 daylilies in the late spring of 2017. It bloomed last summer. Good substance, kinda short, but a pretty enough yellow. Dunno if it will stay, as I'm not in love with it, but it can stay until I run out of room or it impresses me in some way and earns a permanent place.

I received this one in Sept. of 2017 from Gilbert H. Wild. It has grown well and bloomed like crazy this last summer, very pretty bloom with excellent substance. I even thought one of the blooms had just opened in the morning and then realized that it was a bloom from the day before! Just gotta love the staying power on these blooms. However, I am with Diana on this one being too short and had a couple of scapes that bloomed way too low in the foliage. It sets pod easily so I crossed it with a couple of much taller dips to see if I can get a taller plant and to see if it passes on it's great substance to it's kids. Always fun to play and see what you might get!

This was my first year with Elegant Explosion and seems like it will be a hardy, prolific bloomer as it was eager to bloom in its first season. While the yellow is a beautiful deep color, it isn't anything spectacular but it complements nearby daylilies with yellow throats so I consider it like white space in a publication, giving the eye a rest before moving on to a more elaborate bloom.
