I finally got all my hibiscus seeds cleaned, counted, bagged and labeled, and I just posted 30 different crosses. I don't know if this smaller swap can absorb them all, but they are easy to grow (just rough up the seed coats), hardy and the flowers are quite showy. The parent plants bloomed on and off for 3 - 4 months in my garden. If you don't have a lot of space, try the Luna crosses. They are only about 2 foot tall. If you want big, go for Pink Elephant, Tie Dye and Plum Fantasy.
Put them on your wishlists, please! nodding

Diana,
Do you have any non-cross seeds to offer, by chance?

Val,
There are 2 already listed:
"Luna Rose × Luna Rose"
"Plum Fantasy x Plum Fantasy"
Those are self-pollinated, and Luna Rose seedlings are usually true to the parent type.
I have a couple packs of self-pollinated Summer In Paradise, and one of Pink Elephant I can add to the list, if you wish.
I also have some seed from 2 species Hibiscus - Wooly Rose Mallow (wild collected) and Texas Red Star (both controlled self-pollinated, and some bee pod seed).
If anyone wants me to list those, just let me know.

Diana, I was looking more toward the Midnight Marvel and/or Mars Madness because of the dark foliage..and Red color. I have a number of hibiscuses already, but those piqued my interest. DOnt know if you have any to offer

Val,
I added the one remaining pack of Midnight Marvel x Mars Madness and 2 packs of a red-flowered, mocha-leaved seedling of (Mocha Moon x Midnight Marvel #3) x Midnight Marvel. You can see the pollen from Midnight Marvel on the seedling in the photo collage.

Val, I've picked up some seeds for Sea Island Brown Cotton. I believe it's used as an ornamental, would it be allowed in this swap?

Hey all you veggie growers, I'm going to try my first peas and cukes this year. Jung Seeds has galvanized fencing with 8" mesh that folds flat when you're not using it. They sell 2 8" x 48" sections for $33. Is this a good way to go and is that a good price?

For tomatoes, do you use cages or bamboo stakes?

The price looks good, depending on whether or not they sock it to you with shipping charges. I would invest in three 6 foot t-posts to insure it doesn't blow over when the cukes get top heavy (or four if the 2 panels aren't end to end like in the picture).
I have an 8x4 foot cattle panel left over from building my fence that I plan to use. It doesn't fold up, but will hold up for fifty years or so...
Check prices at your nearest farm or building supply stores.
Due to my rocks, I stake in-ground tomatoes to t-posts. More recently, I have transitioned to container tomatoes with tomato cages (due to black spot). My "containers" are cast off cattle molasses/mineral tubs begged (or bought for a mere $2 each) from local cattle farmers. I drill holes in the sides about 8 inches up to create a water reservoir. They can hold 2 huge or 3 medium tomato plants.

$2? Wow. What a bargain!
I have t posts left over from my electric fence so I'd planned to use those. Thanks for the confirmation.

Avoid the white tubs - sunlight makes them brittle. My favorites are the nice tan Purina tubs.

$2 is great - they were being sold at a re-sale store by a rancher who decided it was time to clean out the barn. The others were free - I just had to go to the farm and load them up myself. I hear one of the feed stores gives them away too. They re-bottle the molasses mineral stuff in smaller quantities for the families that may just have one backyard calf or milk cow, and give the tubs to the first person to happen by after one is emptied.
