Someone asked me if Flowering Shrubs like Hibiscus are allowed in the Flower swap....the answer is YES!

No flowering herbs unless they are truly used for flowers as well (ie basil flowers, but not really a flower) -- and NO TREES.

Questions, please ask!

THANK YOU!

Hello, am I too late to join his swap? I just found out about it today Crying MrsBinWy was tree mailing me about what germinated that I sent her and asked if I was wintersowing. I mentioned that I did not have time in the Fall to swap, but had harvested a lot of seeds! nodding She told me today about your swap. I am not sure how many I could list in a day, but I know I could list at least 10. Big Grin My stumbling block is the botanical names of my flowers. I remember that was hard I my first swap last 2017 from Poisondartfrog's swap. Sad For most I have pictures, though. I saw the Hibiscus discussion and realized that the seeds I had for that flower were Red, but did not have a picture or know it's botanical name. Maybe someone would want them anyway, though. Shrug!
Where do I list these? Shrug!
Thank You!
Where is the address to send the $8?
When you say we must list 10 seeds, does that mean 10 in a pack or 10 kinds?

SamLav,

it is not too late to join. I asked most people to list by 2/7 so I can figure out the tickets rather than having everything last min, but if you'd like to join, we'd love to have you.

Im setting a 40 seed minimum (40 varieties/different kinds of seeds) listing on the swap, tho. If you can do that, please join us. The only exception is a newbie who's never done a garden.org swap, we let them play with as many as they can list.

You do NOT have to use latin names.
When you go to list your seeds, and input "Balloon Flower", it will come up with options that are in the system. If you do not know which variety of blue balloon flower it is, just put Balloon Flower/Blue. It will not insert a photo as you're not matching the variety name, but the bidder will know it's blue and decide if they want to bid.

I dont dictate the number of seeds you have to have in a package, but I always say "give what you'd like to receive". A normal seed offering is 20-25 for a nice trade, I'd say. But if some people have bought commercial seeds and are willing to share a smaller amount. Then people can decide if they want to bid on a smaller amount or someone is different more, they might bid on the other persons.

It benefits each person to offer interesting varieties and more listings than fewer since you get so many tickets to start with, that increases, but you also get tickets for those you sell. The first night, you get an extra ticket (to bid) for every 2 you sell.

Pictures encourage people, esp'lly if it's something different butyou do not HAVE to insert a picture either. That's an "extra" added feature

Once you join the swap, you will then either build/add to your list, and it will give you an option on to make an item (on the left side) to the Feb swap.

So if you find you'd like to join us, list away. If you can try and get most of your listings up by Sunday or Monday, it'd be FINE.

Hope you'll join us!

Sam,

what's the paint pen for?
You can use labels or just paper and write on the paper and insert inside the seed ziploc.
If you're writing on the seed bag, I'm OK with that, just not seen it done. Sometimes if you use reg. marker, tho. it tends to wipe off so in the long run, you might want to go another way if you're doing trades/swaps. Just my 2 cents.

I think the listing seems daunting, but once you get to sitting and inputting, it goes pretty quickly. Hope you'll find that to be so.

Glad to have you join us!

D'Oh! Whistling I was thinking ahead to wintersowing the seeds I obtained in the swap so I bought a paint pen for that.( the milk jugs) Sometimes my communication skills are a little weak, I assume everyone can read my mind Rolling on the floor laughing
I wrote the seed names on the bag with fine tip permanent marker. My seed bags have a white area so I was able to add how many seeds and the year.
Also I stuck a label on the bag with the swapper's name.
Thank You! for 2 cents Hilarious! and seeds Hurray!

Hi Sam,
I like those white label baggies for writing on. You can use a ball point pen as well :D
