I love this plant and would like add it to my garden but first i need to know more about it and where it would be most happy growing. It is fairly common where i live. I would like to know the botanical and common names (in english). Then i can determine what it is called in my location. It appears to grow well in pots.

Also, please assure me there 2 plants growing in the same pot. I am interested in the short leafed plant and not the longer leafed one. Thank you so much.

I think it is Dracaena reflexa, often called Song of India. Your container has three plants, so I am assuming you are asking about Dracaena reflexa.

Saw this article, and it describes how to grow it: https://www.houseplantsexpert....

Thank you @tarev Hurray! Dracaena reflexa is going to love it here, bright light, and humidity and heat all year long. It will grow outside and potted. And i suspect it will grow faster and taller than a house bound one, i hope. It will be in a climate identical to its origins.

I only see 2 plants growing in the one pot. The third plant is in a neighboring pot. Unless you are seeing something i don't?

It does sound like your potential new plant will have a great life! Enjoy!

Agree it looks like 'Song of India.' No need to leave the site for some pics:

The plant with bigger leaves is another variant of the same thing (according to sources that list D. fragrans & D. reflexa as synonyms):
Mass Cane (Dracaena fragrans 'Massangeana')

Hi Beverly, as Kurt has written, those are the three plants I see. The one with a thick trunk part as identified by Tiffany.

Yes, you got the perfect climate for your lovely plants! Thumbs up

Oh yes, later i investigated more carefully and saw the ferns. It looks like this plant enjoys company or at least doesn't mind sharing root space. Monday will be plant shopping day. There is a particular garden center i've been wanting to visit. Thank you all for your good wishes and, of course, the information. I am really smitten with this plant Lovey dubby
