Osmanthus? in the Plant ID forum

Flowering now in south England. I thought Osmanthus but not sure

I have a feeling that this is Syringa...a lilac.
Not Syringa vulgaris, but a special one./rare even.

Your pic seems to show flowers weeping onto the ground.
What does the whole plant look like?
