Just wanted to show this forum my Epipremnum aureum (aka pothos) growing in water! I thought it was interesting that this plant is capable of living in water for prolonged periods of time Smiling (I guess this is something it had to adapt to while living in the tropical forests of the Solomon Islands)
Let me know if anyone has tried this as well, as I am planning on getting a low maintenance fish to go along with it!

Many plants, including Aroids, root and grow quite readily in water. The initial root cell structure develops to accommodate either soil or water. Cuttings in water is a common way to propagate many plants before introducing them to soil.

Interesting @WillC

it seems though, that it is capable not only of propagating in water, but also of growing and living in water.

I wonder, in what way do these root cells surrounded by water differ from root cells surrounded by soil?
