Annuals Garden Photography Organic Gardener Garden Ideas: Level 2
These two plants are in my friend's garden. He wanted me to get these identified.
The one having just leaves as I saw today have grown quite wide and healthy. He said it gives out a long stalk and has a fine flower on it. He does not have a picture of the flower.

First one looks like Fortnight Lily (Dietes iridioides), although its not a lily but an iris. The second like Bear's Breech (Acanthus).

#2 As Daisyl suggested, may be Bear's Breeches (Acanthus mollis)

Thanks a lot Daisy and Lin. I've informed my friend with this information. I had grown the Fortnight lily but it did very poorly. I'm glad my friend's plant which he bought from somewhere did so well.
