Found this weird growth on one of my cucumber plants yesterday evening. Never have seen anything like it. We have had a lot of rain in NC the past week. Any help? Thank you!

I'm quite frond of plants.
I would guess it's a wasp cocoon. Keyhole wasp, Eumeninae, etc.
