Hello,
I am looking to identify this plant as I don't remember planting it.It is about 5 feet tall now and looks like a tree, with small trumpet like flowers about 2 inches long and very narrow. It has alternating pale green leaves with smooth edges. Thanks in advance for any information.

It is a Tobacco Tree, Nicotiana glauca. Its not native but has naturalized itself to the Central Valley and and Central and South Coast. It is considered an invasive species.

Yet here in the UK where it is barely hardy it is considered quite a nice ornamental. The most that I have got away with outdoors here is two winters.

It is native to South America and grows well were it is hot and sunny. Maybe your end of the world is just too chilly?
