In 2022, Apple Tart bloomed from July 3 until Sept 3. Maybe it put up a late scape, but it hadn't done that well since 2015 when it bloomed from June 30 until mid-August. Anything blooming after late July is what I consider late, so it is nice to see this one in bloom when most others are on their last leg. I've had it since 2008 and just love the height, color and form, the scapes are sturdy with well-spaced branching.
9/3/2022 - last scape of the season with buds to go.
I have more than a few pictures of it.
It started out in 2008 in the landscaping around the house. Here it is next to Emperor's Dragon with Megan's Love peeking in from the right. Love how it stands above the foliage.
By 2015, I had moved it to its current spot and it had multiplied tremendously. The only downfall is that it wants to face west, so my neighbor gets a better view of it, lol.
It will throw a poly now and again.
Branching and bud count was very good in the early years, but it seems to have diminished some in its new spot. This picture is from August 2009 showing the nice branching and at least 15-20 buds.
Just getting stared at the end of June in 2020.
A couple close-ups.
July 6, 2015 - taken at 6pm and still looking pretty good.
August 12, 2022 - it can get that waxy look in the hot August sun and the bloom in back doesn't look too good.
