This perennial vine is aggressively taking over my friend's yard. It is definitely perennial and just keeps coming back. Perennial vine, not sure if it blooms, no visible blooms at this time. Fort Worth, Texas.

I have this all over here as well. It has long roots to the Earth's core but if you keep digging it up it weakens pretty quickly and will eventually quit coming back. I dug up quite a few last year and only some came back this year and I'm trying to stay on top of them. I might plant it in a spot where it can't take over but I never saw anything laying on it either so not sure it's worth having here when other plants are preferred.

Someone that wanted to feed the monarch caterpillars might ought to appreciate this plant.

I have some similar milkweed vines...
Matelea carolinensis... both maroon and yellow flower forms
Also Gonolobus suberosus.

Until we see flowers...
Can't positively rule out something nicer... Although... The matelea is far less aggressive than honeyvine is said to be.
